EAT THE GUN providing you with straight-in-your-face RRrrrocK since 2002.

It all started in Münster Rock City, late 2002, when EAT THE GUN released their debut EP „Kingsize“ which became „Demo of the Month“ in the German Metal Hammer magazine. The four young mates made it into one of the biggest rock magazines and sold all 2.500 copies of their EP in the following months.

In 2003 and 2004 EAT THE GUN played about 100 club and festival shows all over Germany. In 2004 they were invited by Jägermeister to support the Scandinavian rock stars HIM on three shows of their Germany tour. By then EAT THE GUN already had tons of new songs for their first album but no money to pay for a good studio. Luckily, in 2004 EAT THE GUN won the international band contest “Bilbo Rock” in Bilbao, Spain. The prize money came in handy for recording the debut album “Cross Your Fingers” in late summer of the same year. “Cross Your Fingers” was released about two years later in March 2006 on the bands’ own record label Eattitude Records. Most German record companies did not (and still don’t) believe that there was a need for young Hard Rock bands at the time, so the band and their former management decided to run their own record company.

EAT THE GUN were invited to support one of Germany’s biggest rock bands the TOTEN HOSEN on one of their summer open airs in Weilburg in 2005, rocking a crowd of 20.000 fans.  While playing numerous concerts EAT THE GUN toured England, Netherlands, Switzerland, Croatia, and Spain in 2006 and 2007. They played some of the biggest German festivals like Taubertal Festival (20.000) or Big Day Out Festival (25.000) together with international bands. As a result the national rock press praised the band and their performances while the new album received outstanding ratings.

In early 2008 EAT THE GUN were ready to record their second studio album „Super Pursuit Mode Aggressive Thrash Distortion“ with music producer and skateboard legend Claus Grabke. The album was released in cooperation with the independent label Limited Access Records on March 13, 2009. “S.P.M.A.T.D.” became the biggest success for EAT THE GUN so far and was praised by the national and international rock press! In 2009 EAT THE GUN joined the Volkswagen Sound Foundation Family who among others arranged that the band provided the soundtrack for the VW Scirocco car racing game. The game was downloaded over 3,5 million times in the iTunes App Store worldwide. EAT THE GUN released two music video of the songs “Solitary Sinners” and “Viva La Insane”. The “Viva La Insane” clip was played in rotation on iMusic1 and Yavido TV. Their album made it to the Top 10 of Germany’s Metal/Rock DJ Charts where it stayed for eight weeks!

Since 2002, EAT THE GUN played about 500 concerts in Germany and Europe. They shared the stage with international artists like Toten Hosen, Him, In Extremo, Backyard Babies, Hardcore Superstar, Donots, Status Quo, and played some of Germany’s largest rock festivals like Taubertal Festival, Big Day Out Festival or Open Flair Festival. So far EAT THE GUN have sold thousands of albums and worked tireless to become a constant in Hard Rock. Enough reasons to move on. Currently EAT THE GUN are working on their new album. More news coming soon!
